To become a licensed security guard in New York State, the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course is your first mandatory step. This NYS-approved course provides a comprehensive introduction to the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.
To meet New York State licensing requirements, all security guards must complete the 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course within 90 days of employment.
New York State requires all licensed security guards to complete the 8-Hour Annual In-Service Training every 12 months after finishing the 16-Hour On-the-Job Course.

No Security Training School in the State of New York NEEDS this information. You will just need to be 18 Years or older, A U.S Citizen or Green Card Holder with a Valid Social Security Number
Once you verify that your license is expired,The Division of Licensing Services (DOS) gives everyone a six month grace period from their expiration date to get their training courses in as well as their renewal form with the necessary fees. Once you have passed that six month grace period, you will be required to just get your fingerprints done and submit a new application to receive a new license.
As soon as your registration is complete, You will receive an email with the booking order confirmation sent to your email highlighting you of the courses you are taking, the date and time of your course. You will also receive a copy of your payment receipt.
P.S: Once you have those confirmations, you will be all set for your scheduled training date. Make sure you are on time with everything that is required for you to bring (See FAQ “what to bring to class”).
Please note that we do send out reconfirmation emails a day or two prior to your class session just as a friendly reminder that you have a course coming up.
If at any point you had a criminal record, You will need a letter of disposition or certificate of relief from the courts to reinstate your ability to secure a security license. These documents state that your case is closed and you are able to work. If you have multiple cases, you will need to have a disposition for each case.
However, please be advised that depending on your crime/conviction, the state MAY not issue you a license, as they have the last say on who gets a license (we are only responsible for the training portion).

Yes that is perfectly okay!!, We will accept students whose courses were paid for by another person regardless of the name on the billing, Our system would let us know who the student is and who paid for courses fees.
PS: Please ensure that the person who PAID for the course, forwards you or gives you a copy of that receipt (which they will receive to their email once the transaction has been approved)
Unfortunately the certifications and license that you get for New York State, is only good for New York. If you plan to move out of state and you are looking to continue your career in the security field, you will need to get certified for that specific state.
If for any reason you lost your certificate, Pls call our office immediately to request a new copy. You MUST give us 24 hour notice before picking it up at the office. Pls be advised that we charge a replacement fee of $10.00 for a new certificate
